What I’m up to lately (as of August 2021):

Grieving a lot of losses in recent months. My mom’s passing in May started this season of mourning. Most recently, my dear former colleague Young died several days after he was admitted to the ICU and diagnosed with late-stage pancreatic cancer.

Still trying to develop a daily art practice, and being sporadic about it, even after completing the ICAD art challenge. Read more about my artwork here.

Still way too into Dragonvale. (I’m up to Level 64 as of this writing; my kid is somewhere around Level 100-something.)

Obsessing over the second season of “Ted Lasso” (and annoyed that we may be heading toward a “will-they-or-won’t-they” storyline with Ted and Rebecca). The show is becoming a big part of my self-care routine, along with art, Dragonvale, and baseball.

Frustrated that my hometown Padres are sliding badly in baseball; at least my White Sox are still doing pretty well.

No work-related all-nighters lately, but I’m trying to get out of the habit of being up until 2 a.m. for no particular reason.

Still haven’t conquered the small pile of thank-you notes to the kind people who sent sympathy cards when my mom passed away.
